about

A developer with a project delivery background

Product interfaces now; large capital programmes before that.

I build product front ends mainly in React. Most recently that meant owning a feature end to end at Rover, a pet-care marketplace, from requirements through to the dashboards that watch it in production. Before that, e-commerce at Netenders and Camaloon, and FHIR-compliant medical data transfer at Dovetail Lab and EMIS.

Before software I spent five years in project engineering: Hinkley Point C, then 4LM, the world’s largest rail signalling upgrade, covering 40% of London Underground traffic. I moved across in October 2019.

Where I've worked

Seven roles across two industries: software since 2019, rail and nuclear energy before it.

Software Engineer @ Rover

March 2026 — July 2026 · Barcelona

Rover is a pet-care marketplace. I worked on the booking experience alongside designers and product owners rather than downstream of them, leading the end-to-end revamp of the mobile app’s home screen rebooking feature — requirements with Product, experiment design with Analytics, through to launch.

React and TypeScript on the surface. Drove team adoption of AI-assisted workflows, prototyped proof-of-concepts, and built the Datadog dashboards for it.

Senior Full Stack Developer @ Netenders

October 2022 — March 2026 · Barcelona

Netenders is a global e-commerce company selling wholesale clothing and promotional products. I joined to develop, launch and maintain a product customisation tool serving North America and Europe.

React and Redux for the customisation tool, Ruby on Rails for the catalogue and live pricing APIs. Led the frontend of a full site redesign and ran A/B tests on conversion. Improved product search with Elasticsearch.

Full Stack Developer @ Camaloon

June 2021 — September 2022 · Barcelona

Camaloon is an e-commerce business built on personalised promotional products. I relocated to Barcelona to join the storefront and internal tools team.

Built React widgets for backoffice applications, streamlining order processing. Added RSpec coverage on the paths that mattered, and refactored legacy flows with Hotwire for faster pages and improved mobile engagement.

Full Stack Developer @ EMIS (Dovetail Lab)

October 2019 — May 2021 · London

My first software role. Dovetail Lab is part of EMIS, specialising in secure medical data transfer, and I joined a small team building FHIR-compliant applications for patient data consent.

React with Redux over Kotlin (Spring Boot) and PostgreSQL. Automated deployments with AWS CloudFormation, and led load testing with JMeter and CloudWatch ahead of high-traffic events.

Project Manager @ Thales GTS

June 2017 — October 2019 · London

4LM — the world’s largest rail signalling upgrade, covering 40% of London Underground traffic. Ran a section with interfaces to several other lines and a large depot, translating technical detail for senior stakeholders.

Mechanical Engineer / Assistant Project Manager @ Amec Foster Wheeler

November 2014 — June 2017 · London

First job out of university, on the Hinkley Point C new nuclear programme. Representative for a multi-million-pound framework contract, maintaining the client relationship through a contractually difficult period.

BEng (Hons) Elec & Mech Eng @ Strathclyde

September 2010 — June 2014 · Glasgow

First contact with code: Python, C and MATLAB through computing and microcontroller modules. Final year project analysed historical weather data against wind-turbine shutdowns.
